Here are some of the more frequently asked questions you may need answered, if you can’t find what you are looking for please drop us a line on the contact form and we will get back to you.

Can I come in and buy direct from the store?

We carry many staple varieties in stock, however if you are needing specific blooms or larger quantities you are always best to telephone ahead or pre order.

How far in advance should I pre-order?

For very specific blooms pre-order at least 10 days in advance – more if the timing of your event falls around busy floral days, the Christmas period, Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day.

Can I order now for several months in advance?

Yes you can, Please be aware flowers are a seasonal product, the supply and availability fluctuates with demand and the product actually having been grown, if it hasn’t been grown it can’t be supplied , so ordering early won’t guarantee supply but it could head off disappointment as we have plenty of time to suggest alternatives. The final costing for your flowers will only be calculated 10 days prior to your event, payment would be required at that point.

Can you give me a quote for my flower order?

 We can give you a close estimate as to the dollar value of your order to assist you with your planning and budgeting, but not a final quote.

 Flowers are purchased using the Dutch auction system highest price to lowest therefore achieving the best price for the growers on the day. We can do a final costing for your flowers 10 days prior to your event, as it is then that we will know how supply and demand are shaping up.

Payment would be required at that point.

Wholesale flower prices are quoted exclusive of GST.

What payment methods do you accept?

Cash and eftpos in store (want to pay some prior to 10 days ask us about our prepay service).

Credit card in store or over the phone.

Bank transfer transferred funds need to be cleared before we can deliver or allow collection.

We do not accept cheques for payment of flowers.

How long will my flowers last?

When your flowers are delivered or collect they will often be in tight bud and very fresh they are definitely going to last the distance for your event, be guided by us as to how much in advance you may need to purchase to get the look you require (often flowers need to open to achieve this),different varieties have different vase life , their suitability for the project you are doing  is also a factor in flower choice, once again be guided us.

How will I know how many flowers to order?

Wholesale flowers are purchased by the bunch not by the stem, there is guiding information regarding bunch sizes in the flower section.

 Alternatively, we have three service levels for you to consider.

  1.  Complete DIY, In store on the day of purchase free, or

   Place your order directly from the list available we will be in contact with a price and delivery options.

 

  1. Work with one of our staff to calculate your flower needs.

Face to face consultation by appointment, 10% surcharge when flowers are purchased up to $300.00, over $300.00 free. You do the DIY on your event.

  1. Have us do the works for you.

 Face to face consultation by appointment; We do the organisation make and installation if necessary, this is a paid service and will be quoted after the brief has been discussed and considered. We will use wholesale pricing on the blooms all other service charges apply.

Do you have a minimum order value?

Yes to qualify for wholesale pricing your flower purchase order needs to be over $75.00 excluding GST and delivery if required.

Please be ware when purchasing wholesale flowers, the blooms are sold in full bunches not part thereof or stems.

How will the flowers be delivered?

The flowers will be delivered in sturdy cardboard boxes, they will not be in water and will require your attention immediately they are received. Refer to our flower care page.(link)

Don’t panic! flowers can often be out of water 12-24 hours in transit but do need your attention once received.

It is your responsibility to ensure there will be someone available to receive and care for the flowers immediately they are delivered. Our couriers cannot re deliver or wait for someone to arrive, the flowers will be left in the best possible location if there is no one to receive them.

Can you make my chosen flowers into a bouquet?

Wholesale Flowers West Auckland don’t offer a bouquet service but our onsite florists at Flowers on the Hilltop can assist you with this paid service.

We have senior florists available to discuss your event flowers. It’s always best to use the Get In Touch form (left) as an initial point of contact , this will save  considerable time in assessing your needs. If you can specify a call back time even better as we will plan our call to you around that time or email you with other suitable times.
